The Great Twist

The Great Twist is a narrative device that disrupts the reader's expectations and understanding of the story by introducing an unexpected revelation or plot reversal, fundamentally altering the interpretation and significance of previous events.

The shock of a paradigm shift that reorders the entire story, demanding a re-read to appreciate the author's intricate construction. It's the thrill of realizing the rug has been pulled out from under you, and the subsequent delight in piecing together the clues you missed.
