The Double / Mirror Self

A psychological motif where a character confronts an external entity or alternate self that explicitly embodies their own suppressed, denied, or unintegrated darkness.

The thrill of seeing one's own worst impulses made manifest, the horror of a mirror showing not just your face but your hidden self, and the tension of a battle against an enemy who knows your every weakness.
