Knowledge as Curse

A motif where the acquisition of truth or absolute clarity comes at an unbearable personal cost, isolating the enlightened character through sanity loss or social alienation.

The chilling realization that some truths are too terrible to bear, leading to the profound loneliness of the enlightened. The horror of seeing the world clearly when that clarity shatters one's sanity or relationships.
