The Body Snatcher

A paranoid trope driven by the terrifying suspicion that loved ones or citizens have been stealthily replaced by emotionless impostors, destroying basic social trust.

The chilling dread of not knowing who to trust, as familiar faces become sources of suspicion. It's the visceral fear of isolation and the breakdown of social bonds when anyone could be an imposter.
