Horror Comedy

A hybrid subgenre that holds visceral terror and laughter in a deliberate, high-wire tension, using the conventions of horror — monsters, graphic gore, and the uncanny — as material for comedy, while using humor to lower the reader's guard before tightening the screw.

The thrill of dark laughter, where the punchline and the scare are inseparable. It's the feeling of being on a high wire, where the absurd and the terrifying are so tightly wound that one can't exist without the other, creating a uniquely chaotic and exhilarating experience.
