Somewhere out there in the dark, with both moons in hiding, the Saracen Horde was preparing for a night attack on the Holy Crusade. You could always tell because the Guests were gathering in their flitterboats. But for the men in the field, that didn't count. It was warfare, it was deadly, and there was a Sacred Cause to be won. That was the real thing. Or it had been for Corporal Allan until his accident.
