Description

With the invention of his transdrive, Andrew Reznor had given a dangerously overpopulated Earth the freedom of the stars. Humankind had immediately gone out seeking worlds to colonize, many of which are inhospitable to man yet which contained the vital resources now nearly exhausted on Earth. And slowly, far too slowly, the long work of terraforming new home planets was begun. Now Andrew Resnor was sitting on a new discovery, Beauty, a paradiselike planet ideal for human colonization - and equally ideal for a project Reznor had long had in mind, the creation of a giant game preserve where all the endangered creatures of the Earth could have a new and better chance for survival. But when the Bureau of Colonization and Intel, the international intelligence agency, learned of Reznor's find, Beauty was transformed from haven to political battleground. Yet what neither Reznor nor his enemies knew was that Beauty hid a life force of its own - an alien presence with goals far different from those of humankind...
