Magical Realism

A distinct literary mode where fantastical, supernatural, or folkloric elements are woven seamlessly into an otherwise strictly realistic, culturally specific world without explanation, apology, or systemic rules.

The uncanny feeling of the extraordinary being ordinary. A ghost at the dinner table is just another guest, a talking animal a fellow commuter. The world feels both familiar and subtly, irrevocably strange.
