Half known lives

Thanks to advances in biotechnology, the female protagonists of HALF KNOWN LIVES experiment with a fine upstanding citizen of their prairie city. They take Max Hoffman hostage, impregnate him, and keep him prisoner for the duration of the pregnancy.
