A mercenary soldier suffers a head wound that destroys his memory but grants him the ability to see and converse with the invisible gods, goddesses, and supernatural creatures inhabiting the land. Each book follows his experiences as he forgets everything upon sleeping, relying on journals to maintain a tenuous hold on himself and his story.
