A World War II destroyer is transported to an alternate world where two species, the cat-like Lemurians and the reptilian Griks, are at war. The series follows the crew of the destroyer as they navigate this new world, choosing sides and attempting to influence the conflict. The books are connected by the ongoing struggle for survival and the crew's involvement in the war between the native species.
