Terraforming

A subgenre centered on the deliberate engineering of entire worlds — thickening atmospheres, seeding oceans, redirecting comets — where the planet itself is the project and the protagonist’s lifespan is dwarfed by the timescale of the work.

The audacity of the undertaking rendered procedurally credible. The thrill of witnessing the grand, slow, and deliberate transformation of a planet, where the sheer scale of the project dwarfs individual lives and ambitions.
