Mutant

A post-human species designation covering individuals whose biological baselines have been permanently altered by environmental exposure, radiation, or rapid localized evolution, creating a volatile rift between them and the human societies that fear them.

The thrill of otherness, of being fundamentally changed and feared for it. The potential for new abilities and the struggle for acceptance in a world that sees you as a monster, or a threat to the established order.
