Ben Aaronovitch
About
Ben Aaronovitch was born in 1964 and grew up with parents, siblings, and a dog named after a Russian cosmonaut. His childhood was ordinary, leading him to explore writing as a means of escape, eventually focusing on screenwriting. He found success quickly, writing for popular shows like Doctor Who, Casualty, and Jupiter Moon. His work for Virgin's New Adventures was cut short when they discontinued his books. During a challenging period, Aaronovitch wrote an episode of Dark Knight, a book for Big Finish, and Blake's 7 Audio dramas. Struggling financially, he took a job as a bookseller at Waterstones. It was there that he found inspiration to write his own books and began his acclaimed series Rivers of London, also known as Midnight Riot in the Americas. Aaronovitch is a father to a son, Karifa, whom he affectionately calls 'The Evil Monster Boy'. As Karifa approaches university age, donations to support his education are gratefully received. Aaronovitch currently resides in London and has expressed a desire to stay there until it is forcibly removed from his possession.
